Wednesday, March 13th: Numbers 19:1-20:29, Luke 1:1-25, Psalm 56:1-13, Proverbs 11:8 ~ Tammy

Today's passage from the Bible In a Year Reading Plan is Numbers 19:1-20:29, Luke 1:1-25, Psalm 56:1-13, Proverbs 11:8

Psalm 56:11 I trust in God, so why should I be afraid?  What can mere mortals do to me?
Obviously mere mortals can do a lot of things to us, many of them worthy of being afraid. But they can't do anything about our eternity, and nothing they do can trump God's sovereignty.  This doesn't mean that nothing bad will happen, but that God will be with us through the worst this life can throw at us, and we can trust Him. He is good.  He is sovereign. He is with us.

That is the most common response/reason why we do not need to be afraid.  Because God is with us. (Isaiah 41:10, Isaiah 43:5, Psalm 23:4, Joshua 1:9, Deuteronomy 31:6, Psalm 118:6-7 are just a few examples!)

He is with us. And that is enough.

Tomorrow's Bible In a Year Passage:  Numbers 21:1-22:20, Luke 1:26-56, Psalm 57:1-11, Proverbs 11:9-11
