Thursday, March 21st: Numbers 32:1 - 33:39, Luke 4:31 - 5:11, Psalm 64:1-10, Proverbs 11:22 ~ Nathan

Luke 4: 33-34
In the synagogue there was a man possessed by a demon, an impure spirit. He cried out at the top of his voice,
[34] “Go away! What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are---the Holy One of God!”
Luke 4:41
Moreover, demons came out of many people, shouting, “You are the Son of God !” But he rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew he was the Messiah.

In both these instances the demons knew exactly who Jesus is, He is the Messiah and is all powerful! They want Jesus out of the way so they can destroy us.

Lots of people both then and now don't know Jesus, they've heard of Him but refuse to acknowledge and accept Him. Jesus is the only one who can save us, I'm thankful that He loves us enough to die for us and allow us to be with Him forever in Heaven, if we accept Him in our lives and then follow Him.

A reminder that knowing Jesus is God is not enough for salvation. The demons certainly acknowledged Him as God and knew how powerful He was. We need to put our faith in Him and follow Him as our Lord and Saviour.
