Deuteronomy 9:6
Understand, then, that it is not because of your righteousness that the LORD your God is giving you this good land to possess, for you are a stiff-necked people.

Just like the Israelites, we get a lot of good things that we don't deserve. In fact we deserve a lot worse then any bad things we get. It's all thanks to God's goodness and His love for us, that we get anything good.

We also don't deserve Heaven, no matter how good we've been. It's also all thanks to God's goodness and love for us.

How could we then not accept this  gift from God and commit to Him, and go on to humbly work as hard as we can for Him?
