Thursday, June 14th: 2 Chronicles 19 - 21, 1 Thessalonians 4 ~ Nathan

2 Chronicles 20:15
He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the LORD says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.

This verse reminded me of the importance of leaving our troubles with God, and relying on Him instead of trying to do things on our own.

The people of Judah faced a very real threat, they knew this could wipe them completely out, only God could help them. Do I leave my smaller scale (comparison to Judah's) worries and fears with God ?

2 Chronicles 20: 32-33
He followed the ways of his father Asa and did not stray from them; he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD. [33] The high places, however, were not removed, and the people still had not set their hearts on the God of their ancestors.

Jehoshaphat did a lot of good and relied on God for help, but here is a reminder that he wasn't perfect. A reminder to me that my work is never over, there's always the next generation that also needs to know God.
