Thursday, August 31st: Psalms 132-134; 1 Corinthians 11:17-34 ~ Tammy

Today's passage from the Bible In a Year Reading Plan is Psalms 132-134; 1 Corinthians 11:17-34

1 Corinthians 11:31-32 If we were properly judging ourselves, we would not be judged, but when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined, so that we may not be condemned with the world.
We need to examine ourselves, judging our sinful behaviour by the standards God sets forth in His Word.  If we do that, if we recognize our sin and call it what it is, if we repent from our sin, actively putting it to death in our lives, relying on the purifying grace only possible through the blood of Christ and His body broken on our behalf - only then will we avoid the wrath of God.

We need to take our sin seriously.

Tomorrow's Bible In a Year Passage:  Psalms 135-136; 1 Corinthians 12

Yes, I need to take my sin seriously and ask for forgiveness and work at not repeating my sin. Too often we take our sin and forgiveness too casually, but it's a big deal.
