Tuesday, August 15, Psalms 91-93; Romans 15:1-13 ~ Jody

Today's passage from the Bible In a Year Reading Plan is: Psalms 91-93; Romans 15:1-13

You who sit down in the High God’s presence,
    spend the night in Shaddai’s shadow,
Say this: “God, you’re my refuge.
    I trust in you and I’m safe!”
That’s right—he rescues you from hidden traps,
    shields you from deadly hazards.
His huge outstretched arms protect you—
    under them you’re perfectly safe;
    his arms fend off all harm.

Psalm 91 The Message

What a beautiful picture David paints in this Psalm. God is our Protector and Refuge - but in order to experience this fully we have to sit down in His presence! We have to spend the night in His shadow and trust that He will keep us safe.

How often are we racing around in the night of our lives worried, anxious and scared when all we need to do is curl up in Shaddai's shadow and trust His outstretched arms will fend off all harm.

A good reminder for me to put all my anxious thoughts, fears, and worries in our God - our refuge.
