Psalm 84:7b “My whole source of joy is in you.”
God is not just a source of joy, He is THE source of joy, our WHOLE source of joy.
He is sufficient. He is enough.
Yes, there are other things that bring us joy, but ultimately, if it came down to it, He alone would be sufficient. Thankfully, He graciously desires to give us more things that bring us joy - but He is the source of them all anyway.
He created us with a longing for relationship. But none of our relationships will bring us the joy He intended without Him as the centre, and without being in close relationship with Him.
