Sunday, July 9th: Job 38-40; Acts 16:1-21 ~ Emma

Today's passage from the Bible In a Year Reading Plan is Job 38-40; Acts 16:1-21

Acts 16:16-21 is such a good example of how our faith should be like. Paul cast out demons from this girl, knowing there could be consequences, and sure enough there were (as we find out later in the chapter, they're sent to jail for this). But knowing the consequences of their faith, Paul and Silas still did what was right and what God had called them to do. We need to be bold and unashamed like this in our faith too.

Job 38:12
“Have you ever commanded the morning to appear
and caused the dawn to rise in the east?

God goes on in most of the verses in our reading from Job today, telling Job what He has all done and created. Many examples for us here showing the power and awesomeness of God.

Thankful for the Holy Spirit who gives us strength to do what we know is right.

In our Job passage, God basically tells Job that He is God and Job is a mere man. We all need that reminder sometimes.
