Thursday, March 14th: Numbers 21:1 - 22:20, Luke 1:26-56, Psalm 57:1-11, Proverbs 11:9-11 ~ Nathan

Numbers 21:4-5
They traveled from Mount Hor along the route to the Red Sea, to go around Edom. But the people grew impatient on the way;
[5] they spoke against God and against Moses, and said, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread! There is no water! And we detest this miserable food!”

We've heard this complaint from the Israelites many times, after God helped them out of slavery in Egypt.

When I hear this I feel like I can't believe they would have the nerve to complain! God had done a huge miracle for them. But then I realize that I also have a negative attitude and doubt and complain as well, and what has God all done for me?!

He's done much more then I deserve and I need to be thankful.

Psalm 57:9-11
I will praise you, Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples.
[10] For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. [11] 11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.

David was under huge stress at this time, and he still found time to think of the realty in life - to give God the praise He's due. I want God to be more of a central focus in my life at all times.

A good reminder to always be thankful, and to give God the glory for the things He has done.
