Friday, March 23rd: Joshua 19-21; Luke 8:1-25 ~ Emma

Today's passage from the Bible In a Year Reading Plan is Joshua 19-21; Luke 8:1-25

“The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!” When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and the raging waves. Suddenly the storm stopped and all was calm.” - Luke‬ ‭8:24‬

This is a story I’ve always very much related to. Having anxiety, fear has always been present in my life. There have been many times where I have cried out to God (like the disciples in this passage), letting my fear be bigger than my faith. But like He did for the disciples, Jesus calms my fears.

It’s hard to remember when you’re in the midst of panic that Jesus is always with you. The disciples thought Jesus wasn’t with them because He was asleep, much like how I’ve thought Jesus wasn’t with me because fear has made me feel alone. But Jesus was still on the boat, and He still woke up, and He still calmed the storm. In the midst of my anxiety, I need to remember that He is still with me, and He will calm the storm.

Joshua 21:45
Not a single one of all the good promises the Lord had given to the family of Israel was left unfulfilled; everything he had spoken came true.

God is faithful, we can trust in Him, even when we have fear we can trust in Him, He is 100% faithful

What an amazing truth - He is always with us. He will never leave us.
