I heard a preacher once say that one of the reasons Jesus did miracles was to prove His deity, but that much of the time, out of all the miracles Jesus could have chosen to do, He did miracles of compassion.
He could've made the planets dance in the sky.
He could've turned grass purple.
He could've created a mountain with one word.
He could've changed a pig into a goat.
He didn't do miracles just for the sake of doing miracles. He didn't do miracles in order to dazzle or create chaos or miracle worship fever. He did miracles out of love and compassion. Because He is a God of love and compassion, and He loves to reveal Himself to His people.
Do we represent that part of Jesus well? Do we demonstrate love and compassion to those we encounter?
