Saturday, August 8th: Psalms 74-76, Acts 27:1-26 ~ Tammy

Today's passage from the Bible In a Year Reading Plan is Psalms 74-76; Acts 27:1-26

Psalm 74:7-8
They set your sanctuary on fire; they profaned the dwelling place of your name, bringing it down to the ground. They said to themselves, “We will utterly subdue them”; they burned all the meeting places of God in the land.

Many people today are trying to erase God from our public life - but no matter what people do, they cannot eliminate His presence among believers, nor can they eliminate the evidence of His presence in the power of creation.

Psalm 75:2 “At the set time that I appoint I will judge with equity.
As finite humans, we cannot understand God's perspective about time.  We want justice and we want it now (unless we're the ones needing to be punished!).  God will act in His time, not ours.

I love the emphasis on God's power and majesty in all of these psalms.
