Saturday, June 3rd: 2 Chronicles 19-20; John 13:21-38 ~ Tammy

Today's passage from the Bible In a Year Reading Plan is 2 Chronicles 19-20; John 13:21-38

2 Chronicles 20:20 In the morning they got up early and went out to the wilderness of Tekoa. As they were about to go out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem. Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be established; believe in his prophets, and you will succeed.” 21 Then he consulted with the people and appointed some to sing for the Lord and some to praise the splendor of his holiness. When they went out in front of the armed forces, they kept singing:[f]
Give thanks to the Lord,
for his faithful love endures forever.
God had promised Jehoshaphat a victory and he believed Him.  He believed Him completely, with absolutely no reservations.  How can we tell?  Because he instructed the people to sing praises and thanks to God - before the victory.

That's faith!

Do I have that faith?  Do I believe that much?  Do I praise and thank God before the victory?

We're often not told in advance that God is going to answer our prayer with a "yes".  But no matter if the answer is "yes" or "no" or "wait" we know that God is good, and we know that God is sovereign, so we can praise Him and give thanks to Him before the battle, trusting that God's best will be accomplished for His glory.
