Sunday, May 7th: 2 Kings 1-3; Luke 24:1-35 ~ Emma

Today's passage from the Bible In a Year Reading Plan is 2 Kings 1-3; Luke 24:1-35

The story of the resurrection.

This is the key part of the gospel that Christians often forget to tell about. If Jesus hadn't risen from the dead, we would not be saved. How amazing and loving is our God for sending His perfect Son to die for His children. Even though we disappoint Him every day, He still loves us and wants us and forgives us. Praise God for His compassion and mercy, and thanks be to Him for the resurrection.

Tomorrow's Bible In a Year Passage: 2 Kings 4-6; Luke 24:36-53

I'm a bit surprised that none of the disciples remembered his claim about rising from the dead. You'd think at least one of them would go to the tomb, nervously, thinking that just MAYBE there was a chance, approaching with heart racing. But nobody did. Not sure why not? Maybe it was just so far fetched, they didn't even consider it?

NOTHING is impossible with God. But how often do we forget that? How often do we not even think that God could possibly do "x" for us? Where is our faith?
