Even though Absalom had wanted to overthrow David and even kill him, David still wept for his son's death, and he was still upset at the news.
Like David, God is a Father who weeps for His children. He cries with us when we are upset, and He cries for us when we do not do what He says. God is a loving, caring Father. And we need to do our best to love Him back, and also love His children just as He loves us.

Yes, it will be ‘business as usual’ right up to the day when the Son of Man is revealed.
This verse tells us that we really won't know when Jesus will return, we won't be expecting it. This verse also tells us then to be ready at all times, and not put off anything in our relationship with God till another day.
So thankful for God's perfect example of what a parent should be like.
So true Emma! I love reading about how David was such a strong warrior, but still had such a soft heart.
