Friday, April 28th: 1 Kings 3-5; Luke 20:1-26 ~ Tammy

Today's passage from the Bible In a Year Reading Plan is 1 Kings 3-5; Luke 20:1-26

I love that Solomon asked God for wisdom.  This is something I pray for our kids almost every day before they go to school - that they would have wisdom to know what is right, and the courage to do it.  Wisdom and discernment are so important - to our spiritual growth, to our witness for others, it's importance really can't be overstated.

Tomorrow's Bible In a Year Passage:  1 Kings 6-7; Luke 20:27-47

I love that God spoke to Solomon in a dream. I had not noticed that before.

Nathan said...

1 Kings 3:11&12
And God said to him, “Because you have asked this, and have not asked for yourself long life or riches or the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern what is right, 12 behold, I now do according to your word. Behold, I give you a wise and discerning mind, so that none like you has been before you and none like you shall arise after you.

Again, the importance of seeking wisdom and having wisdom. I pray that I look for this first.
