I wanted to make a couple comments about our 1 Corinthians passage.
The first thing that stuck out at me was "love builds up". We are to love our fellow believers and our enemies, and one of the ways we do that is to build them up. We need to encourage them. We need to look for the good in them that can glorify God. We need to watch our tongue and make sure that the things we say build them up instead of tear them down.
The next thing was the part about there being one God, one Lord. There is only One God and that is our triune God - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He alone is worthy of our worship and praise. He created everything, and everything was created for His glory alone.
The last thing was the part about denying something we want for the sake of a fellow believer. We are to be selfless, thinking of others ahead of ourselves. Throwing our freedom in someone else's face is not love, it is selfish and arrogant. Sacrificing ourselves for the sake of our brother is love, and is what we are called to do for the good of others and the glory of God.

The second year I was in it Faith Foundations class for women at my church we studied 1 Corinthians. It was so good. It's become one of my favorite books of the Bible. So true for us today. People say things are worse now than before? No. Corinth was dealing with the same stuff we are.
I liked your comment Tammy on us being selfless and putting others first. It ties in well with excercising our freedom, and the harm that it can possibly have on someone with a "weak conscience".
Two things from Job that stood out for me:
Job knew he was "innocent" from anything that would have been cause for his suffering as a punishment from God. He wished for a meeting with God:
Oh, that I knew where I might find him,
that I might come even to his seat!
And yet Job also knew that because he was not worthy of this cruel and unusual punishment that God must have some other motive in mind for Job to endure it.
For he will complete what he appoints for me,
and many such things are in his mind.
15 Therefore I am terrified at his presence;
when I consider, I am in dread of him.
To know you are innocent and to know God is allowing it shows what a tremendous faith Job had.
