Accompanying Ray Stedman sermon: Let us Bow Before Him
Accompanying Matt Chandler sermon: Rebuilding Through Promises
Matt Chandler makes the following points in his sermon on this passage....
There is one God and He is God of all.
God has chosen us, and we can only respond to Him because of Him moving us to do so.
God is always aware of our circumstances, and He never abandons us to walk through those circumstances alone.
God guides and instructs His people, primarily through the Word of God, but also through the covenant community of faith.
God provides for His people by giving us, not what we want, but what need, as determined by Him not by us.
God is always ready to forgive - He is gracious and merciful. He disciples in love, and is always willing to extend His gracious and merciful love to sinners like you and me.
Stedman makes this great point....
Lord, if I have injured any soul today,
If I have caused some foot to go astray,
If I have walked in my own willful way,
Dear Lord, forgive.
