Thursday, May 15 ~ Miriam

Today's passage from the Bible In a Year Reading Plan is 1 Samuel 31; Psalm 97; Acts 8
Today's scripture focus is Genesis 1:14-19

14 Then God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years; 15 and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. 16 God made the two great lights, the greater light to govern the day, and the lesser light to govern the night; He made the stars also. 17 God placed them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 and to govern the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good. 19 There was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.

Psalm 19:1a - "The heavens declare the glory of God."

Here is a video I found on youTube talking about the universe, the sizes of the different celestial bodies, etc.  It's 6 1/2 minutes long, kind of slow, but very interesting, and from a Christian perspective.  I hope you enjoy it.

Tomorrow's scripture focus: Genesis 1:20-23
Tomorrow's Bible In a Year Passage passage:  2 Samuel 1-2; Psalm 98; Acts 9

I`ve seen that video before, but I watched it again. It`s beyond astounding how vast the universe is, and how powerful a creator God is, to have created it. I loved how they added that verse in, and it`s so true, when we consider the heavens, what is man that God is mindful of us. And yet not only is He mindful of us, He entered our little Earth and died for us. What wondrous love.

Yes, I took note of that verse as well. Stuff like this just makes me marvel that anyone could possibly believe that it all happened without a Creator.
